Helping Adelle

I was going to have a special sale today (Saturday) in my ETSY shop. However I've decided to put together a special event to help one of my sweet models and her family!

Adelle (above modeling a Bella's headband)...was hurt in an accident this weekend!
Luckily she will be "okay"- however her family doesn't have insurance, and with a limited income these medical bills they are facing are going to be huge! You can read here as to what happened.

Adelle's sister and mom are both models in my shop too! This is baby sister and their amazing and strong mom!

As you all know, I love to help people out in any way I can!!!

I'm going to be donating 10% of all profits made this Saturday to Adelle for her medical expenses!

Game Night.........

First off for those who don't know what "comment game night" is over at Bella Bowtique's Facebook page...lemme give a quick run down. Friday 8/13/10 at 8pm EST we will start the "Comment 1st Game".

I will be posting photos of items (such as headbands, beanies, and clippies....).

Each post will include a post # (for my record keeping) a picture of the item, description AND a super discounted price for the item! The price WILL include shipping. This will make it easier for everyone! So the price you see is the price you pay!

In order to claim the item, be the first person to comment under the desired item. You need to simply comment with your PayPal email address!

At the end of the game - I will go back and add up your totals and send you a combined invoice. Invoices MUST be PAID within 24 hours of being sent. I cannot keep track of who can't pay until next week, etc. Your PROMPT payment is very much appreciated. If your payment has not been made within 24 hours, I will cancel your invoice.

* If you fail to pay you will kindly be asked not to play the comment game in the future. This is only for serious buyers.

POSSIBLE CHANGE FOR GAME NIGHT? NEED YOUR ADVICE!!!

Right now the first person who comments wins the item. However I'm wondering if we should make a change to this. Instead of the first commenter I'm wondering if along with the price, description, etc...I should put "comment #4" or "comment #6"...change it up a bit each time.... wins. Then the 4th (or whatever said #) who posts their PayPal email address would win the item.

Darn you Food Network! I was watching TV the other day...something I so rarely do!
There was a cupcake contest, and one of the contestants made a "Salted Caramel Cupcake"!
Ohh, it sounded so good. I tried to block the yummy thoughts of a salted caramel cupcake from my mind, however...after the days passed my cravings only got worse.
I figured I'm doing so well on my diet, I am due for a reward.

After many...many...Google searches, I came across the perfect recipe.

We were able to raise $41.00 for this foundation. I made the donation this morning 7/12/10.

Weight Loss....!!!!

For the first time in a long time, I'm blogging about something other than my business. I'm blogging about ME. Not only about ME, but about how I need to lose weight!
I'm going to be doing a 1500 calories a day, 3 month challenge. Along with that challenge, I will be doing moderate exercise 5 days a week. My exercise will be either riding a stationary bike for 30 min a day, or taking a 30 min walk.

This challenge will start today June 19th, 2010 and end September 19th, 2010.

I don't have a specific amount of weight I'd like to lose during this three months....however...I would like to start looking a feeling better about myself.

So, here...I...go!

I would like you to meet a little girl named

Abbygail Marie Robinson

Abby's mom is a customer of Bella's Bowtique. I have been following little Abby for a bit now, and didn't realize that her mom was a customer of mine until a few short weeks ago!

Let me tell you a bit about Abby using her moms words!

"Abby was diagnosed with Dandy Walker Malformation, Congenital Hydrocephalus, and Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum.

The variation of Dandy Walker that Abby has basically means that she has a retrocerebellar archanoid cyst that sits where her spinal cord and cerebellum meet. This cyst caused her brain to pool spinal fluid unable to drain properly into her body like yours and mine does. Due to the pooling spinal fluid, her head basically was like a water ballon. The more fluid you put in, the bigger it gets. Abby's brain tissue was smashed up against her skull, causing brain damage and abnormal brain anatomy. Hydrocephalus has the potential to not only cause severe brain damage, but also death. Abby is missing the middle part of her brain, which is called the Corpus Callosum. Some people can live without this, and some can't. This is potentially dangerous at all times, and there is nothing we can do to fix it.

Abby will never be in the clear from potentially life threatening situations. Abby has a shunt to drain the spinal fluid from her brain to her belly. Shunts can last from 5 minutes to 30 years. Abby is on her 4th shunt, and will soon have a revision, but we never know when one will malfunction. It is ever present in our minds that Abby can at any time throughout her life go into emergency brain surgery.

Every day is spent helping Abby reach her full potential and striving to bring awareness to these causes. These disorders are rare in the form that Abby has; but there are many variations; and many children are misdiagnosed every year, and continue to suffer brain damage."

This weekend Bella's Bowtique is offering to donate 50% of all profits made to Abby's family to help with medical bills, therapeutic equipment bills, hospital bills, ect.
