I was going to have a special sale today (Saturday) in my ETSY shop. However I've decided to put together a special event to help one of my sweet models and her family!

Adelle (above modeling a Bella's headband)...was hurt in an accident this weekend!
Luckily she will be "okay"- however her family doesn't have insurance, and with a limited income these medical bills they are facing are going to be huge! You can read here as to what happened.

Adelle's sister and mom are both models in my shop too! This is baby sister and their amazing and strong mom!

As you all know, I love to help people out in any way I can!!!

I'm going to be donating 10% of all profits made this Saturday to Adelle for her medical expenses!

I pray that she has a swift and comfortable recovery!!!

Game Night.........

First off for those who don't know what "comment game night" is over at Bella Bowtique's Facebook page...lemme give a quick run down. Friday 8/13/10 at 8pm EST we will start the "Comment 1st Game".

I will be posting photos of items (such as headbands, beanies, and clippies....).

Each post will include a post # (for my record keeping) a picture of the item, description AND a super discounted price for the item! The price WILL include shipping. This will make it easier for everyone! So the price you see is the price you pay!

In order to claim the item, be the first person to comment under the desired item. You need to simply comment with your PayPal email address!

At the end of the game - I will go back and add up your totals and send you a combined invoice. Invoices MUST be PAID within 24 hours of being sent. I cannot keep track of who can't pay until next week, etc. Your PROMPT payment is very much appreciated. If your payment has not been made within 24 hours, I will cancel your invoice.

Darn you Food Network! I was watching TV the other day...something I so rarely do!
There was a cupcake contest, and one of the contestants made a "Salted Caramel Cupcake"!
Ohh, it sounded so good. I tried to block the yummy thoughts of a salted caramel cupcake from my mind, however...after the days passed my cravings only got worse.
I figured I'm doing so well on my diet, I am due for a reward.

After many...many...Google searches, I came across the perfect recipe.

Weight Loss....!!!!

For the first time in a long time, I'm blogging about something other than my business. I'm blogging about ME. Not only about ME, but about how I need to lose weight!
I'm going to be doing a 1500 calories a day, 3 month challenge. Along with that challenge, I will be doing moderate exercise 5 days a week. My exercise will be either riding a stationary bike for 30 min a day, or taking a 30 min walk.

This challenge will start today June 19th, 2010 and end September 19th, 2010.

I don't have a specific amount of weight I'd like to lose during this three months....however...I would like to start looking a feeling better about myself.

So, here...I...go!

I would like you to meet a little girl named

Abbygail Marie Robinson

Abby's mom is a customer of Bella's Bowtique. I have been following little Abby for a bit now, and didn't realize that her mom was a customer of mine until a few short weeks ago!

Let me tell you a bit about Abby using her moms words!

"Abby was diagnosed with Dandy Walker Malformation, Congenital Hydrocephalus, and Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum.

The variation of Dandy Walker that Abby has basically means that she has a retrocerebellar archanoid cyst that sits where her spinal cord and cerebellum meet. This cyst caused her brain to pool spinal fluid unable to drain properly into her body like yours and mine does. Due to the pooling spinal fluid, her head basically was like a water ballon. The more fluid you put in, the bigger it gets. Abby's brain tissue was smashed up against her skull, causing brain damage and abnormal brain anatomy. Hydrocephalus has the potential to not only cause severe brain damage, but also death. Abby is missing the middle part of her brain, which is called the Corpus Callosum. Some people can live without this, and some can't. This is potentially dangerous at all times, and there is nothing we can do to fix it.

Abby will never be in the clear from potentially life threatening situations. Abby has a shunt to drain the spinal fluid from her brain to her belly. Shunts can last from 5 minutes to 30 years. Abby is on her 4th shunt, and will soon have a revision, but we never know when one will malfunction. It is ever present in our minds that Abby can at any time throughout her life go into emergency brain surgery.

Every day is spent helping Abby reach her full potential and striving to bring awareness to these causes. These disorders are rare in the form that Abby has; but there are many variations; and many children are misdiagnosed every year, and continue to suffer brain damage."

Layla Grace Fundraiser.......

As many of you know, I have been a prayer warrior for a sweet little 2 year old named Layla.
She has been on my mind and my heart heavily for the past months.

I am holding a fundraiser to help with Layla's medical bills. 50% of ALL purchases made at Bella's Bowtique March 1st - March 5th, will be donated to Layla's family!

If you follow my blog, twitter, facebook, or on the Gymboree board you KNOW she is the only thing I can talk about daily!

I first found out about little Layla way back when I frequented a website called "Baby Wears Prada". Layla's mom was the owner of the website and had announced that her little baby was diagnosed with cancer!

Layla was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma at only 18 months old.

Unfortunately, this cancer has taken it's toll on sweet Layla, and she has merely a few number of days left on earth. We are all now praying for a miracle! We are asking that God perform a miracle on this child. We are also praying for Layla's comfort -as she is in a great deal of pain! She is being taken care of by Hospice - and has a morphine pump to control pain.

There have been many nights where I just lay in bed and cry over this sweet child. I grab my little 2 year old, and hold her, kiss her, and cry. This is how much Layla has effected my life. I talk about her constantly. I text people about her, I've made friends because of her. I rally for her and gather more prayer warriors for her! This child has touched SO many lives. She has touched so many people, more than most will in their entire life time.

She amazes me! I love her so much, and I have never even met her!!!!

Thank you Layla for making me a better person sweetheart. You are beautiful, sweet, innocent, and a true angel!!! GOD BLESS YOU and your entire family!!!!!!!!

So not only is Kamieo local, but she liked my hair pretties. Plus she is super knowledgeable and has given me some pretty nifty information for my business! Knowledgeable, patient, sweet, talented, and very generous. I love her! :)

Kamieo was sweet enough to offer to take photographs of my items, so we did a fantastic trade (well at least it was fantastic on my end, hehehe). I gave her props in turn for her talent of professional pictures of my products!

Now mind you, Isabella who is going through her "terrible two's" a little early - wasn't the easiest child to photograph - and so I threw in the towel pretty early into our session.

So I must tell you before I start my post. I never "win" anything. I think my life has been blessed with a wonderful family. I have the perfect husband and two very special little girls.
However......
As far as "contests" go. I never win. Basically I don't even enter them because I know I'll never win.

Well a week ago I came upon a cool little contest to win some adorable doggie Christmas cards.

Kaleigh my 7 year old is a complete and total dog lover!!! She loves animals period - however dogs are her most favorite.

So I entered the contest and guess what........I won!!!!!!!!

My cards came in the mail today and they are so adorable. Even cuter in person.

Presentation is Everything!!!!!

I have always thought that presentation is everything!!!

When I get items in the mail that I have ordered online, it really does say a lot when the item I have ordered is wrapped in tissue paper, tied off with a ribbon, and a little note card is inside thanking me for my purchase.

I have gotten those few items that are just stuffed inside an envelope and shipped off. How sad and boring.

My DIY Ornament Wreath

So as most of you who know me...know I am not the creative type.

Seriously! I'm not! Okay except for when it comes to hair pretties for little girls.
If it is a flower or a bow - I'm good. Anything else. Foooorgetaboutit!

Well, I saw this adorable little wreath over at my friend Karla's blog
and had to give it a woah!

You must follow her instructions and make sure you do THREE major things!
*Glue the tops to the ornaments before you begin.
*Use the thinnest wire coat hanger you can find.
*Make sure you have LOTS of ornaments if you want a full - large wreath.

I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!

We unfortunately were stuck at home all sick with the stomach flu. We missed out on Grandma's Thanksgiving day feast. However she was kind enough to put together a whole meal and sent it over to our house!!!
Kaleigh was the first to get sick..on Thanksgiving eve. Then exactly 12 hours later in the middle of the night the baby and I both at the same time woke up miserably sick.
I have not had much time to do anything online while trying to take care of two kids while being sick myself. My energy is just now starting to resume back to a level where I can get some things accomplished!

I did want to post these pictures of our family..taken by Butterfly Kiss Photography!

So tonight I had an unusually slow day on ETSY. Well, it doesn't surprise me...as today was Thanksgiving...and most people were busy in the kitchen - and spending time with family and friends.

In the mist of taking care of a sick little girl today, and not being able to spend Thanksgiving with my parents...I had gotten pretty sad.

Well...that all changed after I opened my email tonight.

There was a message from a fellow ETSYian - and she let me know she had featured my shop in her blog!

OMG!

Not only was I featured, she did a lovely write up and posted some of my favorite items!

Let's just say - she truly made my very lonely Thanksgiving - EXCITING!

Isn't it amazing the connections you can make these days with all the fun things like Facebook, Myspace, Blogs, Twitter!!!!
So, my Aunt Tami - who lives in California recently had her first baby GIRL....needless to say she needed some Bella's Bowtique for her new little princess!!! Well (kinda) long story short, I ended up meeting another super fantastic photographer, who just happens to be my Aunt Tami's friend!!!
Toki is her name, and Toki Lee Photography is her wonderful little business!!!

Here is a picture she took of my three little cousins...and of course the baby is wearing her Bella's Bowtique Christmas Headband!!! :)

Let me tell you how much I love this photographer!!!!!!!! I saw her work, and was just mesmerized!!! That was back in June of this year. Ever since then I have just been in awe of all of her work! It's literally breath-taking!!!!

Most of you who know me, know how much I love babies!!!!!!
I just can't get enough of them, right?

Well....today I was going about my normal ETSY shop duties when I spotted the most BEAUTIFUL customer appreciation photo attached to some lovely feedback!
My customer ( who is an AMAZING photographer ) posted a darling picture of a baby in one of the headbands she had purchased from me!

I was in heaven!!! I had to contact her right away to see if I could use the picture in my shop. It was simply adorable!

Not only did she say YES -she also sent me a few more snap shots and is going to send me more pictures when she gets the other headbands photographed. I cannot begin to tell you how much she made my day!

...and of course I missed it!!!! I always check the front page - hoping that one of my items would be featured. I however missed my first ever front page debut! It happened on Sept 7th 2009, at 6:00am EST - which means I was probably fast asleep in my bed!!!! Luckily there is a very cool website out there that keeps front page results in a "vault". I check http://www.craftcult.com/ about once a week to see if any of my items had a honorable mention on the front page! I could not believe my eyes when I saw I actually had been featured!!! Woot woot!

How can you resist a precious baby, and a fantastic photographer? Oh and yea maybe add a few props like a beautiful basket with a yummy ubber soft looking chocolate brown blanket and pink hair bow, and BAM!
Tonight when Melinda Ann sent me these pictures my heart just melted!!! I have once again met another fantastic photographer who is trading me props for photos to use on my ETSY site!!
Melinda does beautiful work, and even has a "little peanut" of her own, who I get to have some pictures of soon too!!
I love the fact that Melinda was right on getting me pictures! I have recently had bad luck with getting anyone to follow through once I sent props out. I told Melinda she is "A TOTAL KEEPER"!!!!!! Eeeekkk - so exciting I tell you.

This little baby in these photos is baby Ella! Isn't she a doll?!? When I opened up the pictures tonight, my husband Tom was standing behind me, and we both, just "ooo'd and awww'd"!
I told him I want another baby! LOL. Oh yeah and if I have another baby, I want to fly to Melinda to have her photograph him/or her!

Seriously...my most favorite thing is when I sit down to my computer, and receive a beautiful picture of my products on my customer's little ones! It's the best feeling, and just makes me smile!!! I feel so proud - and happy that my customer's love my products enough to take the time to send me a photo!

Today I open my ETSY account to find this AMAZING appreciation photo left by my customer Nicole! She is a very talented photographer, as you can see!!! The model is just beautiful too!!!! A stunning photo all around!

Then, attached to this email was a beautiful, and I mean beautifully STUNNING photo of my beanie on this precious and oh so gorgeous little girl! Andrea is an AMAZING photographer, and super sweet! She is ever so graciously allowing me to use these photos on my ETSY site. I was so excited, I had to list this beanie again, and feature it on my front page!!! I also visited Andrea's website Andrea Hallet Photography and just browsed through her work! Boy do I ever wish she lived in Washington, as I would love to have her take our family portraits. Prayers for Baby Layla Grace!!!!!!!

I have recently had the chance to learn about a very special little girl. Her name is Layla, she is 17 months old, and was just diagnosed with cancer!

After reading about her - I just broke down in tears! My heart aches for this family and for baby Layla! Being a mother of a 14 month old and 7 year old - I could not imagine having to EVER go through something like this. I just don't understand why innocent children have to deal with this!

This little girl is just adorable - she is the cutest thing ever! I have prayed for her and hope to spread the word about little Layla - in hopes of more prayers for this baby and her family!!!!

We took the girls to a cute little cupcake and coffee shop in Renton today! Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes! It was super cute, and yummy! I had a Lavender Infused Vanilla cupcake along side my white chocolate mocha! Kaleigh and Isabella played on the floor with the toys (provided by the CGC&C shop), while Tom and I chatted about our weekend plans!

We are at day 5 of being stuck in the house! We have about a foot of snow outside. It's been nice being inside the house with the family. I've been busy working on inventory for a show I'm doing in January.

Kaleigh and Daddy made a cute little snow man.....(um..actually it was more Daddy made the snow man, and Kaleigh pointed and shouted orders!)

A snowy crazy day! Tom decided to venture into work today. Well after being suck on 405 in a snow storm...he was SOME HOW convinced by his carpool buddy ... NOT to turn around and go back home. I don't know why he didn't listen! Now his car is stuck in Redmond at the top of a hill in the middle of the street!

Luckily a very nice man at his office w/ a 4wheel drive & chains is giving him a ride home right now. Oh a positive note...Tacoma Public Schools remained open. Yay, I can get more Christmas wrapping done - and work on things for our potential bazaar tomorrow.
